Water Princess, Fire Prince Blog Tour

Kendra E. Ardnek is publishing a book, and it’s a good read to be sure! Now, Clara, stop glaring at me. Or I’ll tell Kendra to take care of you. If Clara will be so good as to not interrupt —

Clara: Why would I do that?

Andrew: Don’t worry, I’ll see to her.

Clara: I dare you.

AS I WAS SAYING, if Kendra’s irrepressible characters will give me a moment to dilate on the details of their story, it will definitely be worthwhile. Don’t forget to check out the free goodies in this post as well as the title reveal for Book Two in the next post! Come back tomorrow for my own review of Water Princess, Fire Prince, and stop by on September 3 for a special interview with Kiona, one of the characters and a spunky girl!

Clara: Just let me talk. If this is about me, I should have some say.

Okay, fine. I’ll start with you talking, if you insist.

Water Princess, Fire Prince Sneak Peek!

With that thought, she turned to the Fire Prince with the exclamation, “Movie magic, I love it.”

He turned towards her with a confused expression on his face. “Movie magic?”

She pointed towards the chasm. “Don’t you just love movie magic?”

He got the joke this time and chuckled. “Water Princess, this isn’t a movie,” he pointed out. He sighed. “It’s real life. Our life.”

“Oh.” She let the silence sit for several seconds before she added. “I just keep getting mixed up.” She sighed. “But now that you mention it, you’re right. I just don’t think this is a movie. Probably just a book.”

“A book?”

“And, knowing our luck, not even one of the good ones. Probably some self-published work.” She shook her head. “I’d hate to know what the cover art looks like. Probably some photoshop fail.”

He laughed. “That would be just our luck.”

Water and Fire

Clara: See, I knew the cover wasn’t much to look at.

Andrew: Quiet, Clara! That’s actually a very beautiful depiction of you. I mean, of course your hair isn’t really that blue, but Water Princess and all that, you know.

Clara: Yeah, but your hair is on fire! Yes, it’s red, but not on fire! And you look positively angry! That’s not you.

Andrew: Clara, it’s a – what do you call it? A caricature. A stereotype. It’s not a photograph of us. It’s just a depiction of water and fire in human form. And, if you think about it, that’s what we are to Rizkaland. Water and fire personified. So it’s not that bad now, is it?

Clara: If you put it that way.

Kendra, are your characters always this invasive? And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

When the Lady Dragon does come,
Hold fast, do not fear, do not run.
Your Water Princess will fight,
Fire Prince will set all to right.
Each shall come from a Fall,
Their union will save you all.

Despite the fact that she’s on track for competing in the Olympics, and he’s practically raised his younger brothers since they lost their mom in a car accident, Clara Mandras and Andrew Stevenson are pretty much normal teens. They have normal hopes, normal dreams, and they live in a normal world.
All this is torn away from them when they are thrust into another world and declared Water Princess and Fire Prince. With no experience ruling a country, meeting each other for the first time, and being expected to fight the Lady Dragon – an evil sorceress plaguing the world of Rizkaland – Clara and Andrew are underprepared and inexperienced. Unless they learn to work together despite their standing opposition, Rizkaland’s hope will be lost.

What is to come will change their lives forever.

Clara: You’re telling me.

Andrew: This isn’t news, Clara. And it actually does make a really interesting sounding story. I wonder how it turns out in the end.

Clara: You think we can read the book and find out?

Andrew: I don’t think it works that way.

Clara: Humph.
