Eternal Victory!

Why are our minds built to always want to solve problems? Are there really such things as problems? We are made in God’s image – God’s mind isn’t constantly solving problems. There are no problems for God. Therefore, if He is in us and living through us, we have no problems! If you think about anything in the right way, it is not a problem any longer. Why is it that God has no problems? There is nothing for Him to figure out; He already knows everything. He knows how things will work for good, and therefore it is not a problem. Living in the kingdom, this is the mindset we are living in as well. There are no problems; there are only things we don’t know yet!

Death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Corinthians 15:55-57).

What does it mean that the sting of death is sin? I was meditating on it and could not come up with anything to begin to understand it. Later, however, someone was reading from Revelation 9, which mentioned “scorpions” – and I looked up the definition of “scorpion.” As a part of the definition, it said, “from a word meaning to pierce; a scorpion (from its sting)” – and that connects dots in my brain.  Death is like a creature (a beast – and we were talking about “the beast”) with big sharp teeth – teeth called sin. The only way that death has any hold on us is through sin. If we are living in the kingdom, we are no longer within reach of sin. Sin no longer has any hold on us – and neither does death! That is how “to die is gain” – death is utterly powerless over us except for sin! Since we have put off sin, we have put off death – and there is nothing to fear. No wonder Scripture tells us death has no more sting! Grave has NO victory – because God has given US the victory!
